How do I choose the best above ground pool? Ask an expert! Like anything you need to get up to speed with fast, you hire a consultant. If you wander into a big box pool store or call The Pool Factory (online store), you are not talking to experts, you’re talking to trained secretaries. Let’s be clear, experts don’t work for chump change.
In the hope of selling you a pool I will take your call: (978) 710-8667. I’ll take as many call as I can before the sun pops out and I am too busy building and visiting backyards. But even then – we’ll see.
I am an expert, and I am stuck writing this article because web developers, SEOs’ writers, and marketeers don’t know shit about above ground pools. AI (artificial intelligence), while an infinitely better writer of the English language, again doesn’t really “know” anything. They think Intex pools are the best??? Kill me now.
So yeah, calling is the fastest, and best way to choose a good pool for your family. I’m doing okay financially so I don’t need to pump up some garbage in the name of a commission or sale. To be clear, I want your business, but I don’t need to compromise my integrity to get it.
But, because you may be afraid I will sell you something and won’t call, I’ve written this article to help. Here are some considerations to help you choose the best pool for your situation. Now, right off the rip, if you trust that I would never sell cheapo garbage pools, just go to my pool packages page and pick something in your preferred size and shape. Lots of pretty liners and pool walls to choose from. 😉
- Choosing Materials:
- Pools can be made from different materials, such as steel, resin, aluminum or a combination of all. The quality and thickness of these materials can affect durability and longevity. I am a personal fan of aluminum pools or aluminum with resin. They just last the longest, FACT!
- Construction:
- The construction methods and techniques used can vary, impacting the overall stability and longevity of the pool. There are some oval pools with buttresses and some without. You will find pools with buttresses (kickstands) along the straight wall less expensive than the alternative.
- Choosing Design and Shape:
- Above-ground pools come in various designs, including round, oval and rectangle shapes. The design can affect the pool’s aesthetics, stability, and ease of installation.
- Choosing Size and Height: 52″ or 54″
- Pools vary in size and height. Consider the available space in your backyard and your preferences when choosing the dimensions of the pool. Towns all have setbacks too which are rules of how far your new pool has to be from your home, side property line or back of your property line, and heaven forbid you have a spotted frog wetlands area.
- Installation Difficulty:
- Some above-ground pools are easier to install than others. Round pools for instance are much less expensive to build than any other. The complexity of installation can depend on the design and construction of the pool.
- Choosing Pool Features and Accessories:
- Different pools come with various features and accessories, such as built-in ladders, filtration systems, skimmers, and more. Consider what features are important to you. Some people just have to have a heater. So consider must have items and their cost.
- Choosing Your Company – Warranty and Customer Support:
- The warranty offered by the manufacturer can vary. Some brands provide better customer support and longer warranties than others. Good luck getting in touch with any manufacturer, they have firewalls of assistants and they will always refer you back to where you purchased the pool. I can’t speak highly enough of my manufacturer Aquasports Pools LLC though.
- Brand Reputation:
- Brand names don’t mean a thing usually in the pool business. Every brand has a high end and a low end. Think good, better, best! I would say 90% of the above ground pool market is cheap garbage with great marketing. Special coating names that sound… well, special.
- Price Range:
- Above-ground pools come in a wide range of prices. Higher-priced models usually offer more durability, features, and better materials. In the pool business you get what you pay for!
- Ease of Maintenance:
- Some pools are designed with features that make maintenance easier, such as efficient drainage systems and low-maintenance materials.
- Compliance with Local Regulations:
- As already mentioned, different regions may have specific regulations for above-ground pools. Ensure the pool you choose complies with local safety and installation requirements.
Considering these factors will help you choose the best above-ground pool that best suits your needs, preferences, and budget. It’s important to research thoroughly, read reviews, and possibly seek advice from professionals (hello).
